Blue Chambray spotted shirt
Very pleased with my shirt, looks good, feels good to wear. The only downside I feel is that it was actually made in China. I thought it would have been made in Australia.

Goondiwindi Cotton
Hi Linda,
Thank you for your review, here is a little bit about us and where we manufacture.
Family owned, and established in 1992, Goondiwindi Cotton, was born out of a desire to diversify our operations and value add, initially starting off with a small garment manufacturing company, employing local women to sew our garments, at that time we used to weave and dye our own fabrics and manufacture locally.
However over time, all of the spinning and dyeing mills in Australia closed down, and we were forced to move offshore to source fabrics and in turn with our production in order to be able to keep manufacturing our product.
The yarn we use is sourced globally, we use Australia Cotton wherever we can, we also use Australian Wool, 100% Pima Cotton from the US and Linen, all of which is spun, dyed and woven in China.
If we were to look at importing fabric into Australia and manufacturing here, it would unfortunately mean that our product would not be affordable for most people, due to the high costs associated with manufacturing in this country and that our ability to produce the wide range of styles that we do now, would also be severely compromised, believe me, we have looked at this several times, but it is simply not workable for us and our current business model.
Even if we were to manufacture garments here, the reality is we would still be using fabric made in China, as we can't produce our fabric here. China is the largest producer and exporter of textiles in the world, and you will find that most brands in the Australian market even if made here use fabrics produced in China.
We work with only two factories offshore, both based in China and both of whom, understand the importance of quality and do an amazing job producing our beautiful garments.
We have worked with both of them for over 10 years and we consider them part of our team, and one of the reasons that we have become the successful brand that we are today.
The technology we are afforded in the manufacturing process is far superior to what would be available to us locally, and they have also enabled us to expand our range to include Knitwear and the 100% Linen styles, both of which have proved to be very popular with consumers.
The fact that we manufacture in China, may not suit everyone, and that's okay, everyone has a choice which is great.
We are lucky however that it does suit a great deal of people, who buy our brand, because of the quality and the styling, and whilst we do not manufacture locally, what we do ,do is create jobs for a number of people who live in the town of Goondiwindi, as well as supporting many other local businesses in town, such as the transport companies, graphic designers and photographers as well as being actively involved in sponsoring a number of sporting and local events in the community. All made possible through the sale of our garments.
So when people buy our product, regardless of where it is made, they are in reality supporting Country Australia.
