History made its way down Herbert Street this week as Goondiwindi Cotton’s 1878 grand piano, a treasured part of the Coulton family, was carefully guided to its new home with a police escort.
Shipped from London more than a century ago, the piano has been part of the family since the early 1930s. For years, it sat in our old showroom, quietly holding a piece of local history within its polished timber. Now it rests in our new showroom, a small but meaningful move that honours our past while looking toward the future.
The short trip drew curious glances from locals and even made the news — a rare moment where heritage, community pride and a little theatre met on the main street.
