Grain Central recently featured Goondiwindi Cotton in an article discussing a trial conducted on our cotton farm at Goondiwindi. The trial demonstrated that it is possible to divert large amounts of cotton textile waste from landfill without harming soil health or cotton yields.
The project involved spreading approximately two tonnes of shredded cotton textiles onto fields, with results showing no negative impact on cotton planting, emergence, growth, or harvest. Soil-carbon levels remained stable, and microbial activity slightly increased.
