WOMEN IN STYLE I Meet Liz Africano as we discuss living in the country & the upcoming Goondiwindi Polo - Part 2

Part 2 of the Women In Style series, we meet Liz AfricanoLiz moved to Australia years ago after growing up between Italy and Ireland.

Liz calls the Goondiwindi Region home today where she works full time in the family farming operation and is working on celebrations for another memorable Goondiwindi Polo Tournament.

Liz, tell us about yourself...

I was born in Pompei, Italy, and grew up between there and Ireland. I moved to Sydney after finishing my university studies, with masters in Biomedical Science. Three years ago I moved to Goondiwindi (for love, very cliché!!) where I now work with my partner in the family farming business. I have been really lucky since moving to Goondiwindi with all the fantastic people I have met and the friends I have made. It really is a great regional town!

How would you describe your style?

I would describe my style as simple; I don't really like to follow trends but dress to suit my body shape. I wear quite relaxed fits with lots of linens and cotton, of course! My go-to pieces would be a good white shirt, fitted jeans and an oversized linen blazer. I feel like having key pieces like good jeans, tailored trousers and a white t-shirt are essential!

Having a classic camel coat or a blazer can carry you through all seasons, by adding some nice layering with a wool jumper or great jewellery. I have found a new love for hats since moving to the bush! I feel like it can really make a great statement or be a cool addition to an understated but classic look.

Liz wears our Jungle / Navy Random Spot Jumper and our Winter White Quilted Vest

The Goondiwindi Polo is a popular event and enjoys the company of a great crowd from the city. What's in store this year for visitors?

The club has recently renovated the old club bar which has been in disuse for many years and so we thought we would celebrate its revival with a beautiful lunch, lots of music and dancing!

Keeping with the bush style, we thought it would be a great way to showcase the best that our region has to offer. We are spoilt for choice here when it comes to enjoying produce that is grown to the highest standards, and we really just want the ingredients to speak for themselves.
