Location: Goondiwindi Cotton Headquarters in Goondiwindi, QLD

When our team at Goondiwindi Cotton decided to build their new headquarters, we knew the exterior had to reflect the same quality, care, and connection to the land that our brand is known for. That’s when we brought in Shona from SM Gardens.

Known for her intuitive designs and deep understanding of native flora, Shona was the natural choice. With the wide plains of Goondiwindi as her canvas, she set out to create something not just beautiful, but meaningful.

“The planting scheme beautifully complements the building’s exterior, with layered shades of green creating a lush and timeless visual appeal. A vibrant burst of colour from salvias at the entrance softens the space, adding a gentle yet striking contrast. The capital pear tree, underplanted with Hardenbergia violacea ‘White Out’, forms a captivating focal point, while the repetition of plantings and the varied hedge heights introduce rhythm and balance to the design. Acoma crepe myrtles nestled among the hedges enhance the composition with their graceful form and seasonal interest. Each plant variety has been thoughtfully selected for both aesthetic appeal and climate suitability, ensuring a resilient and enduring landscape ideal for a commercial setting.” -Shona

Today, the garden outside Goondiwindi Cotton’s headquarters is more than just an entranceway. It’s a story told in stems and petals; one of resilience, beauty, and a deep respect for place, all brought to life through Shona’s hands.
